Things To Come…

Version 1.9  has been uploaded to Apple and is awaiting approval.

In the mean time, here’s a video showing the new copy and paste feature it will have.  I think it’s a major game changer in terms of how I use the app.  For me at least, it makes it much easier to read blog post and short stories I find on the web.

SSR 1.9 Preview from zyrotin on Vimeo.

It also show’s I left the “e” off of paste in the add menu. 1.9.1 will get uploaded to fix as soon as 1.9 is approved.

Copy and Paste Makes Bookmarklet Obsolete

I realize I haven’t really updated this site in a while and I want to make sure everyone knows that 3.0’s Copy and Paste has made the Bookmarklet obsolete.
The Bookmarklet has always been a workaround, a way to get the address into SSR without you having to type it out, and then let SSR download the file.

On another note, I’ll finally be getting a chance to work on the next version of SSR. I’ve had other projects and a full time job taking up a lot of my time, but that’s changing mid-November. The really big update to the next version will be a notepad where you can type in, or more likely, copy and paste in, your text so you will be able to just bring over web articles and the like.

1.8.1 is up at the App Store

1.8.1 is up, please go get it if you haven’t yet.

This site is up and running except for the PC tutorials, which will be up as soon as I find a good screen capture program for windows and get Windows 7 working again. I installed the beta in bootcamp and all is not well.

I hope you like the update.

Hello Human People!

Sometime in the next few days the newest version of Simian Speed Reader, 1.8.1, will hit the iTunes App Store. Hopefully this site will ready by then. If it’s not, cruise over to the old site: http://mbamonkey/apps

The big new bit of awesome is the bookmarklet and URL Handler that let you pull stuff straight from safari over to SimianSR.
